Crossing the Rainbow Bridge tomorrow. Posted by Paula on 6/2/2026, 9:58 pm My Lewis. Taking Lew tomorrow at 11:30. Definitely saw last night that it's time. He's peed in the house overnight the last 3 nights so I decided to take him out right before I went to bed last night. It's been so hard for him on both ramps so I took him out the front door. The two steps aren't big ones and he's always been able to do them. We walked a couple of houses. When we got back, he couldn't get up them. I tried to lift him but couldn't. I tied his leash to the front railing and had to go get Bill up to lift him into the house at around 11:30. So upset. I drove to work by muscle memory this morning. I'd look up and sort of not know how I got to where I was. Heartbroken. He has been the best, sweetest dog ever I've ever had. My precious boy

I can hardly believe that he got so much better than he was only to go down so fast now. I guess it is the way things like that works. At least he had a few really good years left after he was found wounded and crippled. Know that I am going to be there with the two of you in my thoughts tomorrow and would be there in person if I could.
