There are so many things to choose from for all of us.
Grandchildren who still want to come spend the night, even though they are almost grown. My two youngest grandsons came to spend the night last night because they were both off work today. We enjoyed them and the laughter they brought. I know that it will be over soon, as one graduates high school next May and the other the following year, and both already have plans to go away for college. I just feel honored that they will take time out from dating to come to see me. They just left and Poppy is moping.
How close my grandkids are despite their age difference. Our daughter has two boys in their early twenties, both of whom are married now. One lives out of state, and one lives about an hour and a half away. She also has a 17-year-old. Our son has a son who is 10 months younger than the youngest. They have all been close all their lives. They still play an online game together a couple times a week to keep in touch with each other as well as the two youngest coming here at the same time when they have some time off at the same time. After dinner last night, they were all playing together. Sometimes the wives of the oldest two join in. Daughter's three try to vacation together every year and see each other as much as possible. I find it heartwarming that they have stayed that close so far. They never fight, other than goofing around, and I find that amazing.
Freshly washed sheets on the bed. Can hardly wait for tonight. Is it a bit sad that freshly washed sheets give me so much pleasure?
The weather is sunny and cooler than it was last week. It's only in the high 70's today and feels like 80F. I'll take it over 110 any day.
I talked to my husband a few minutes ago, and he is so enthused about how much they have gotten done on the rental outside since the day was cooler. I sure hope it finishes it tomorrow or the next day. One more thing off his plate.

it's absolutely wonderful when the grandkids still want to sleep over and or hang out.

It's the simple pleasures that can fill our lives with joy... and that includes freshly washed sheets! There are some who do not even have that simple pleasure!
