I still have wheat bread, it's much cheaper and I don't need to be GF, so my toaster is a different colour to the one he uses. We have different brands of marge, use a spoon to get jam or marmalade out of jars so that crumbs don't get transferred.
Good luck with your adherence to the new to you GF diet, can't recall how long it took for my husband to feel better. He will have been GF for 7 years in January. He has found that he can't tolerate oats, even ones labelled GF so we inspect Free From product labels to make sure they don't contain oats in any form, oat flour is often used in biscuits.
