Re: dried lentils/pulses actually labelled gf - recommendations?
I can only speak from personal experience. I eat pulses sparingly because they still give me diarrhoea from time to time! I know that dried pulses need to be soaked and cooked thoroughly, and that cultures that traditionally rely on legumes/pulses cook them a very very long time and suffer no side effects. I always use canned pulses which will have been soaking for a long time in the tin. Then I rinse them and never use the water they came in. And so I find that making my own houmous never gives me the side effects I sometimes have with the shop bought version! Lentils can be problematic for some. So I am wondering if it might not be the possible gluten contamination but the pulses themselves. They are of course a cheap source of protein though not complete in themselves. Hope you can find an answer that helps.
