Two days before cruise we had to fill in a medical declaration, one of the questions was have you or are you suffering from following, there followed a list of symptons which must have covered every ailment known to mankind so as I was just recovering from a mild cold and mindful of the general advice to always give truthful answers I clicked yes expecting further questions to clarify exactly what it was. Message immediately came up on screen, cruise cancelled do not travel to port you will not be allowed to board. My wife and I stared at the screen in disbelief. We phoned cruise line (P&O) to be bluntly told it cannot be changed it could be covid, we told them we had done covid tests but they just said claim off your insurance, guess what, we filled in an insurance claim form and they came back saying claim off P&O.
The battle goes on, we are talking of over £5000 for cruise and excursions and about £700 for insurance. Anyone not been on a cruise be warned if you of a certain age with pre existing medical conditions cruise insurance is eye watering.
