Stopped in Poole where there is one of my favourite informal grub chains, The Lounges, in this case Delfino Lounge where I had a hearty GF cooked breakfast one of the mornings. Visit to Lymington (Hampshire not Dorset) where we found an excellent Tea room, Lounges of Lymington- nothing to do with above chain, lovely GF cream tea, they also did lots of other GF options.
In Poole we had a anniversary meal at Oriel on the Quay, booked asking for GF menu for one of us(they advertise GF) when we arrived our table was ready with a GF menu in place. tremendous choice of starters, mains. desserts, Pasta, Pizza.
Served by two delightful ladies who bought us a complimentary prosecco to celebrate. Beautiful food and wonderful service.
We stayed at Holes Bay Premier Inn, catering there up to its usual mediocre standard although to be fair they now do a separate GF menu, nothing new, just stuff I already new about from their allergy list. the only morning we went in for breakfast, I decided to avoid a cooked breakfast (in itself a poor effort compared to what The Lounges chain offer) so a 'Continetal' breakfast for me would be a cup of tea, slice of GF toast and maybe a yoghurt, they had no GF bread so it would be ten quid for a yoghurt and banana, none of the cereals are GF, we had a refund feeling pretty disgusted, Premier Inns seem to be in a downward spiral which is sad because I have used them for some 25 years, business and leisure.
