Holiday cottage we were in, had small fridge with an ice box, so food shopping was done frequently. Gluten free on grocery shelves and in freezers was okay, but we had trouble finding anything gf in chiller cabinets.
Eating out was mixed, Otter Nurseries had only two choices of gluten free cake both times we went there. Chocolate mint, or a fruit cake. My husband isn't keen on chocolate cake, so it was fruit cake for him.
Cafe in Sidmouth was excellent, lots of gluten free options, and kept separate. Think it was called Becketts. My husband had a gluten free cheese scone which he said was very good.
Zest cafe in South Molton had gluten free goodies to have with tea/coffee, as did Costa coffee shops.
We tried to go to a fish and chip shop in Lyme Regis that said they do gluten free, but when we got in there, it wasn't cooked in a safe gf way, so good job we'd taken a packed lunch with us in case we needed it. Thought about trying a pub in Lyme Regis, as some of them said they catered for gluten free and other dietary needs for lunch, but not a huge amount of time left on parking ticket, so that option was out.
