Yeah, it's really gotten out of hand lately, gluten-free stuff that used to be a treat has become almost a luxury. £3.95 for five little cake slices is steep! A few years ago, that same pack would’ve been closer to £2.50 or so. Prices have jumped partly because of higher ingredient costs (especially almond flour, cocoa, and dairy), and also because a lot of GF brands are smaller producers who’ve had to raise prices to cover production and certification.

If you’re craving something similar without spending that much, Goodness Grains or Lovemore sometimes go on sale online, and Aldi’s own gluten-free line is a bit more affordable when they have it in stock. Would you like me to suggest some cheaper GF alternatives to those chocolate-coated cake slices?
