When posting messages that contain useful information please only use smilies at the start and end of the message to make it easier to copy it to the supplementary board. It is even more helpful if you post a copy of useful information on the supp board yourself.

Hi all, been a while but thought I would post about a recent holiday on IOW. Caught the weather at its best is the first thing to say. Stopped in Shanklin and found two great places to eat. For a delightful tea room can't do better than the Old Thatched cottage tea rooms, the pink one in the old part of Shanklin. Lots of GF options including lovely cake and scones, GF bread for sandwiches. Lovely garden with a 'Fairy glade' Down on the Esplanade is the Steamer Inn, terrific GF range with huge portions. Seems to be a lot of GF available on the Island. We stayed self catering in an apartment in Shanklin, No. 10 Shanklin Manor house. A simply superb apartment, top class decor and equipment, big rooftop sitting out area. Thoroughly recommended, on the Classic cottages website. Problem now is where to go next that is at least as good!! Bill D.
