Many moons ago I was the National Disable Table Tennis Champion, and competed in the '88 Paralympics in Seoul, and again in '92 in Barcelona. Interestingly, I was NOT a penholder player.
I started seriously accumulating (collecting is too grand a term) FPs in the early 90s, and after Teresa brought back some Hero 329s from a trip back to Hong Kong later in the decade, I put a few up on the nascent eBay in '97 -- and they took off. Within six months I was selling fulltime and put in my walking papers as the CIO for a logistics company, and two years later launched the HisNibs.com website (down for eventual relaunching).
I introduced a number of Chinese brands to the U.S. over the early years, and am thrilled that the quality of the offerings have improved so much in recent years.
