My 2 favorite Chinese pens, neither a copy in any way of a Western pen, both with very nice soft gold nibs, are
1. a Hero 2016, marbled dark blue with flecks of gold and lighter blue, and engraved gold band just above the section. Semi-flex 14K nib.
2. A Picasso, body of shiny black lacquer, cap of geometric shapes in different colors to mimic the Cubist style, and a graceful clip meant to evoke Picasso's abstraction of the female body in profile. the nib is an expressive 10k gold.
The Picasso Pen Company was started by a Chinese manufacutrer in collaboration with Paloma Picasso who at that time (90s?) was using her father's name to market cosmetics, perfume, etc. I guess the pens seemed a natural extension.
the label was dormant for a long time, recently revived with a nice translucent gold acrylic pen.
