I think what you are seeing is a bit exaggerated by the angle I needed to use to get the pen photographed while making use of the best available natural light. But, you are absolutely right, the feed is set a couple of mm further out than it should. No good reason why, I just did not readjust / tune the nib/feed complex after I reinserted it last time.
This pen is so special, I only write with it very infrequently. And, after I write with it I clean it very carefully which, the last time, included pulling the section and removing the nib & feed so as to assure it was dry as a bone before I returned to its display case.
