I noticed that the nib was bent just at the tip, and sideways to the left. So, figuring I had nothing to lose, I very gently nudged it back. Not all the way, but when I tried it, it wrote! I still will try to get it replaced, since it looks like a small bit of the left tip broke off. the fact that the right seems okay is what makes it possible to use, because of course writing goes from left to right. Giovanni, I probably would be not above getting one of those cheap Chinese "Sonnets," but I really like the 18 slightly soft nib. A very nice writer. And the pen has some sentimental value, as my first gold nib pen.
