One of my very early pen shows in Chicago c1980's I bought this pen. I was a dealer for Corporate Markets for Parker, Waterman and also Montblanc at the time so I thought I would focus on these Big Three.
Montblanc safeties were my focus. Being a "newbie" I bought this #10, or maybe it was a #12 but it had a #8 nib. OK, I'll find the right nib. By the time i got half way through the show asking if anyone had an extra #12 Montblanc nib laying around...it was the joke of the show. Finally Osman Sumer took kindly to me to explain if anyone had this nib, it would never leave their vault unless it went into one of their own treasured and very rare Montblanc pens. Still, this was a most impressive and massive fountain pen. I loved it while I had it.
Finally a friend at Fountain Pen Hospital NY bought it from me....they had a customer, evidently heard about my pen and I guess he just happened to have a #12 Montblanc nib laying around.
