Yes Jim, the stickers are always an issue. The best thing I'm finding now are the left over sticker material I get around peal off U.S. postage stamps. They peal off easily and I don't believe I will find any residue. Some collectors will never place a sticker on a pen and prefer to use string ties attached to clips. These do the trick in identifying the pen but sure distract from the appearance. Any old sticker residue can easily be removed with wax, or a light polishing with Simichrome over the residue. The Important thing about putting a number on the pen is that it will l refer me to a small card. There's plenty of space on these small cards to place information. And that's the big advantage of using these cards when you have many pens, and perhaps a small memory.
