When these articles about the decline of cursive writing first started appearing, I thought they were silly, because I couldn't believe the schools (or parents) would stop teaching cursive writing to young people. Of course now I know how mistaken I was in my disbelief.
Thank goodness for the younger generation that has taken a renewed interest in fountain pens and handwriting, even if "handwriting" means block letters or printing for some.
And Len, your little story about the clerk who could read the numbers but not the writing on your check.... It is funny, as Alan said, but it is sad too.
