The old method was a bit cumbersome and depended on one person to maintain and periodically distribute a list of address. There is a better way. Each of us has the opportunity to the Options feature to indicate our interest in exchanging letters. You can access your Options from the home page by clicking on "My Options". It is also a place to suggest topics other than pens. Here is an example of what I have put in my Options:
As well as pens I'm interested in French, cognitive development, adult learning, lifelong learning, music, and art. I'm looking for ways to use my pens more. If you would like to exchange letters on pens or other topics send me a private message.

If you are interested in exchanging letters you can post you openness on the Board. People can access your Options by clicking on the small icon next to your name. If you use the words “Snail Available” in your subject line people can find you with the search subject only feature. This method protects privacy and security and is self-sustaining.

Note from Len Provisor: when one sends another a private message they of course include their email address and with that further correspondence one would include their private information such as home address and even phone contact information. All private, secure and never posted anywhere on the website.
