Letter from my grandparents c1905-15

When I found them several years ago it was such a thrill. Letters from him to his girl friend who became his wife. My grandfather sold shoes from a large retailer in Chicago, he would travel all through the Southwest, Texas, AZ, NV NM CA. BTW, every shoe in his sample case was only for the left foot. That was to discourage a bandit from stealing his suitcase. The letters, can you imagine participating in his excitement seeing cowboys and Indians, riding a horse and buggy to local towns selling and buying unsold shoes. Letters from family and friends are really a visual peek back in time. Many letters from my Uncle to his parents when he was in the Navy serving in the Pacific. Always censored but in his later letters after the war he revealed where he was and what he saw, from the Solomon Islands and moving up to some of the biggest Naval battles of the war. Yes, write your letters to family and friends, talk about your life experiences, save them and generations from now they will also be looked upon as vintage social media treasures. Thanks for the topic.
