An auction just ended. I had a vague interest in the pen - a Wahl Eversharp with a #7 adjustable nib in the red inserts. However, the nib tip is bent and there's a lot of wear on the edges of the pen (the correct term escapes me). So I had a speculative bid of about 80% of max value (in my opinion). In the last few minutes, there was a bid over mine which would be the absolute max that I would pay (but I didn't bite as I wasn't that interested). This was rapidly followed by one guy who bid double of this (my) maximum, then another second later there were *two* people bidding 2.5x that ie almost 7x my bid and 4-5x my max. Crazy. You could get an excellent specimen of this pen for less than half the price.
