Yes to Leslie Field's books. They're excellent! I also recommend the large book from the Tiara exhibition at the V&A in 2002. You might be able to find it on eBay. These books are pretty close to being primary sources on the subject, since they used very close and scholarly research by experts. So many of the blogs and websites we find nowadays are just lifted from other blogs and websites. I'm reminded of someone promoting her "article" once in a FB group.
