i agree with you Cynthia it probably was an artist's impression of a Queen regnant but not of a particular crown.
Or it was the artist's imagination.
Could that be a French crown? As a nod to Queen Mary’s brief tenure as Queen Consort of France? It doesn’t look like the crown of Scotland, which survives today in the same form.
