... October 7th will be worn by Infanta Maria Francisca de Bragança on her wedding to Mr. Duarte de Sousa Araújo Martins at the magnificent Palace of Mafra (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_Mafra).
The wedding will be aired live by portuguese private channel TVI.
The Dom Luís diadem is the most important jewel of the portuguese royal family. It was originally owned by Queen Amélia of Portugal (née Pss of Orleans) who received it as a wedding gift in 1886 from her beloved father-in-law King Luís I of Portugal. She always referred to this tiara as the Dom Luís diadem.
The bride will also be wearing a bracelet previously owned by Queen Amélia and bought at an auction by a close family friend, who will now lend it to Maria Francisca. Also earrings from her mother and grandmother.
After decades in the vaults, after Queen Amélia's passing in 1951, it was finally worn as bridal tiara by the present Duchess of Braganza, Dona Isabel, at her wedding day in May 1995. The Duchess wore it also for oficial pictures, and for important state gala events.

For the ocasion of her wedding, interviews with Maria Francisca and with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Braganza, were broadcasted this afternoon on channel TVI.
What a lovely, charming, kind, humble and extremely well mannered young woman she is. By the end of the interview the host was positively charmed by the Infanta's personality, and so he expressed.
When asked about the bridal tiara she will wear she confirmed it will be the Dom Luís diadem, as her mother also wore.
She talked about how honored and humble she felt when her parents told her they would like her to wear this important tiara on her wedding day, as she always felt it was to be worn exclusively by the Duchesses of Braganza. She was expecting to wear one of the smaller tiaras as a bride.
And on a side note, some details on the event:
-The prewedding event will not be a formal tiara event (helas ...) but, by express wish from bride and groom, an informal party with traditional portuguese food, music and dancing (in Portugal is called Arraial), for all the guests to relax and have a good time before the more formal wedding day.
-By express wish from the Duke of Braganza, all the products, materials, food, etc. in use at the wedding festivities are to be exclusively of portuguese origin, as a way to suport national economy.
-The bride will wear two dresses, a more formal one for the religious cerimony and another one for the wedding party, a simpler design that allows her to dance. Both dresses were designed and made by the Haute Couture atelier of portuguese Luzia do Nascimento, longtime seamstress to the Duchess and the Infanta.
- The wedding party for closer family and friends will take place in the gardens of the family home at São Pedro de Sintra.
-A popular street party is planned for wellwhishers close to the Palace of Mafra.
-There will be two wedding cakes for bride and groom to cut, one for the family and friends wedding party at the family home, and another for the wellwishers popular party at Mafra.
-In the interview Infanta Maria Francisca referred how she considers the cut of the wedding cake at the popular street party as the most important one, as a sign of the utmost aprecciation for all the people who will come to show their support to herself and her family, and to all the local people from Mafra whom so generously have welcomed them.
-The Duchess of Braganza confirmed that the couple will go on honeymoon to Morocco. The recent and tragic earthquake only reinforced their decision, as a way to economically help and support the moroccan people at this dificult time.
-The couple will be moving to London. Maria Francisca intends to focus on developing the Prize Infanta Maria Francisca to help promote young artists. She intends to create a large family and have at least five children.
I will try to post the link for the broadcast, in case any of you should be interested in following the ceremony, but I am not sure the live broadcast from TVI channel can be viewed abroad.
