On another note I feel the official portraits were released almost a year too late... They would have been a fabulous addition to their 50th birthdays celebration. At least that way would have been given some glamour and glitter on this very important milestone for them both (and for the country and its future).
What about the bracelet worn by Mette-Marit in the photograph? Not Ingrid Alexandra's Victoria and Albert bracelet, but the one worn on her right hand. Is there something more known about that? Previous Message
The Royal Court has released new portraits of the CP couple by Dusan Reljin from 2023: https://www.kongehuset.no/fotoalbum_presse.html?tid=226954&sek=29496+&kategori=113149
In one photo CP Mette-Marit is wearing Queen Sonja’s large diamond ring.
I wonder if the ring could be a reset of the pear cut diamond brooch Queen Maud received as a wedding gift from Mr. W. W. Astor in 1896.
Queen Sonja wore the original gold bar brooch in 1969, but not since, as far as I know. Sonja has worn the large pear cut diamond ring regularly since the 1980s. She wore it to Prince Andrew’s wedding in 1986 and to Princess Martha Louise’s wedding in 2002.
Beth posted a sketch of Astor’s wedding gift on the History of Famous Jewels and Collections MB in August 2019: https://mb.boardhost.com/historyroyaljewels/msg/1566692072.html
The Penny Illustrated Paper published a rough sketch of Astor’s wedding gift in 1896, also as a gold bar brooch with a pear cut diamond (even if many news reports compared the size with a sixpence).

Any thoughts?
