Missed opportunity. The necklace can be worn in different settings and it would look so much better in a simpler form. Irene proved this many years ago. The inner frame (single row of diamonds and rubies) can be taken out to form a much less rigid necklace. In combination with this dress the full version of the necklace is actually a mismatch. She should have worn a simple diamond riviere instead. Amalia got it right recently but she opted for that horrid cape and also ruined the effect of a mirrored tiara and necklace parure, which is quite unique actually on the European continent. In Japan most (modern) parures consist of mirrored necklaces and tiaras. Ah well. Perhaps third time a charm. Oh and the bracelet is not part of the original parure. It did come with a matching brooch but that piece was reset years ago. Previous Message
Right! Previous Message
Not sure about the bracelet but the tiara and it's matching necklace have been worn together as recently as April 2024 when Princess Amalia wore it at the spanish State Banquet Previous Message
The necklace and the tiara (and bracelet !) haven't been worn together since princess Irene in the 60's ! The neckline of the dress is too high and ruin a little bit the "waouh" effect (IMHO)
Oops I forgot princess Amalia wore the tiara and necklace together recently for the spanish state visit ! Previous Message
Queen Máxima wore the Dutch Ruby Peacock Tiara and Necklace for the Diplomatic Gala at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam tonight !
