Missed opportunity. The necklace can be worn in different settings and it would look so much better in a simpler form. Irene proved this many years ago. The inner frame (single row of diamonds and rubies) can be taken out to form a much less rigid necklace. In combination with this dress the full version of the necklace is actually a mismatch. She should have worn a simple diamond riviere instead. Amalia got it right recently but she opted for that horrid cape and also ruined the effect of a mirrored tiara and necklace parure, which is quite unique actually on the European continent. In Japan most (modern) parures consist of mirrored necklaces and tiaras. Ah well. Perhaps third time a charm. Oh and the bracelet is not part of the original parure. It did come with a matching brooch but that piece was reset years ago.
