Question: are there fittings for the upright pearls that Mary wore? Also, how do the brooches attach?

Oh yes!!
It is the closeup of Queen Mary in the centre of the second pic here that convinces me.
Either it is the same bandeau, or a perfect copy.
By the way, Princess Margaret did sell some jewels. Perhaps someone can use that clue to dig further.
