that's quite surprising. The Liechtenstein family isn't exactly strapped for cash. You'd expect the main branch to be able to keep its personal jewels.
They are a small nation with little official events that require grand jewels.
With the hereditary princess they might in time inherit a few pieces from her Bavarian and Douglas line.

They don't have a lot of jewels and I just read that the bandeau sapphire tiara , Princess Marie received from the Government of Liechtenstein for her Wedding ,never seen since a long time , was sold on Sotheby's years ago. Previous Message
