A lot of boys don’t pay much attention to jewels, and he and William were raised very much as country boys with the hunting and horses and fishing and all that. But that shouldn’t have kept him as a grown worldly man from finding out from Angela Kelly what was available in the cupboards.

Prior to his wedding I suspect that the only tiaras which Harry knew about were the ones which HM or his late mother wore publicly. I rather doubt he'd been given a tour of the vaults ar any point.
