I think what you are saying is probably true of the bigger more known and publicly worn pieces but I do wonder what she might have wanted for her family. Clearly the younger generations wear jewellery less but she would want to leave her family something. Clearly they have trust funds so might they have some money each but perhaps also a few mementos. Might not be just jewellery, a faberge box here and a cartier clock there. Would it be Charles’ decision.
With such a large collection it could stand a few losses. The three main items given to Princess Anne were either unknown and publicly unworn or not fully in the collection. I do hope some pieces are given and worn often like Lady Sarah’s pieces.
