It's a very difficult balancing act but I don't think the cost of living crisis is the reason we see Camilla and Kate wearing familiar tiaras worth millions. On the one hand they can act very frugal and behave like modest country gentry but at the same time they live in vast country houses and palaces and dress up with impressive jewels and control vast estates, businesses, farms, properties and investment portfolios worth billions. I don t recall QEII ever dressing down or bejewelling herself more modestly to spare the mob's feelings during an economic crisis and I don't think Camilla or Kate will. The family employs hundreds of people and spends millions on maintaining the royal heritage including jewels, donates to all sorts of charities while also making a lot of money commercially.
