I think Denmark, Spain and Norway have a more impressive collection to be honest but the current collection matches the monarchy in Belgium: modest and a bit dull.

Such a pity if you see how few jewels of any importance the Belgian royal ladies have these days. If the jewels from Queen Elisabeth, Queen Astrid and Queen Fabiola had been put in a trust or foundation they would have had a fantastic collection. Especially if they had added the pieces Queen Marie-José inherited from her Belgian relatives.
they would have had several grand diamond pieces and sets in emerald, aquamarine, turquoise and pearls. No not a collection to rival those of the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden or Luxembourg but impressive enough to keep up with Norway, Denmark or Spain.
