Almost every Royal house is selling jewels but for Luxemburg…. It was too early after the death of our most beloved Josephine-Charlotte. For a lot of people in Belgium she was the living memory of our ledgendary Queen Astrid!

A family selling their Mother and Grand Mother's jewels and furnitures was never seen before in Auctions. How Could they ? They had to cancel it because people of Luxembourg reacted strongly because they were presents. How much had they to pay ? They choose Sotheby's Paris and Grand Duke Philipp of Wurtenberg.
150 pieces were to sell but the most important part was the jewels part. The scroll tiara realised by Henry Coosemans with Congo diamonds has 854 diamonds and its central is 8 carats , their estimation 80.000-140.000 euros.
The most important the necklace and bracelet realised by Van Cleef and Arpels with Congo extra diamants were estimated 180.000-240.000 euros. I never wanted to write this during Grand Duke Henri's Reign. The two pieces (called Congo jewels) were sold discretly before the Auction. We know nothing about its buyer , but the jewels were never seen anymore.
