Typically a sari is worn with a short sleeved silk blouse that has a scooped neck to better display one’s necklaces. Maxima made a very fun variant of the classic outfit by omitting the blouse. She looks cool and comfortable, and the emeralds look terrific.
I loved the chic chartreuse day outfit she wore yesterday too.

For the second evening of the State Visit to Suriname the Queen opted for a Sari and various diamond and emerald jewels. The necklace comes from the parure created by Jeweller Schurmann in Frankfurt in 1897. From various jewels and stones - the emeralds were said to have belonged to Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia - Schurmann created a delicate parure. Both the tiara and necklace have a very unique design and can be altered. A very versatile set of jewels.
