Could it be that the circlet slipped on her smooth hair. Even though this hairstyle is very popular these days, it doesn't lend itself to securing a tiara. An updo or shorter hair works better.

The issue for me is that the tiara was tilted and not straight. Kind of hard for me to understand how that went unnoticed considering the number of stylist and jewelers involved in preparing the British royal family for such events. Previous Message
Although it is wonderful to see the Oriental Circlet again, it does look too large and rather precariously perched on the Princess of Wales' head.
Like the Delhi Durbar tiara, it was created for much large hairdos than today's. Both could probably benefit from being made a bit smaller. Or would that be sacrilegious?
