I had been looking forward to a new outing of this tiara for such a long time. Especially since I saw the late Queen Elizabeth II wear it - once. It looked splendid on her I thought and since then wished that she would wear it again.

So, when I saw it on the Princess of Wales this morning I had mixed feelings. Like most of the comments so far here I did not think she wore it as well as I had expected. It looked rather tilted. Now, whether that is because it is too big for her or because the hairdresser was not on form last night, I don't know. I suspect that what this tiara needs is a proper updo, or at least shorter hair (like the late Queen and the Queen Mother). So even though I must give the Princess of Wales kudos for bringing out this treasure again, I must admit that I also felt a bit underwhelmed.

And those wrists are crying out for a sparkling bracelet (or two)!

The Queen looked splendid I thought. The Emerald necklace was a very nice surprise. So glad that at least someone is wearing those fabulous necklaces these days (yes, looking at you young Royals now...)

Duchess of Gloucester can (almost) never go wrong in my book. It was wonderful to see the Indian tiara again.

Not sure what to think of the Duchess of Edinburgh this time... again, it's the hair because the jewels are great.
