Indeed…. Twice a loan for a lady who was so prominent, so ambitious…
I never understood why she wore 2 times the same loan.
She loaned her big Cartier Tiara, famous emerald earrings and manteau du cour to a Savoy Princess during the 2 balls.

For her very last tiara Event at the Royal Court,
Princess Lilian could not wear part of the Nine Province tiara as it was now for Queen Fabiola
She could not wear the Cartier deco tiara because it was now for Princess Paola. She could not wear the Cartier flower tiara as she she wore it as a Cathedral in 1958.
She never owns such a big necklace . So it was a loan whe wore twice.
By the way why not Queen Astrid emerald tiara ,?

Maybe he means the lady standing against the wall... If there was a published newspaper account for the event, they might say "also in attendance were..."
