We all Berlgians don't appreciate how the Spanish Heirs are selling Queen Fabiola's jewels on open market to maximise the Price. It is so sad for the discreet , private and warm Queen;
For the first time (7th ) we have a happy Royal Couple , and loving Children.
They bought the Westley tiara for Elisabeth who will receive bigger tiaras when she will marry.
They have not a big jewels collection but it will stay in Belgium. Their popularity is more important than they carats

This is my last post since I read Queen Fabiola aquamarines and her engagement Ring will be sold.
It is Queen Fabiola's will having no Children to give them to Charities or her Spanish family . Perhaps she spoke about it with Kings Albert II and Philippe.

King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola never sold jewels. They never bought back the belgian royal jewels sold by Queen Marie José and her daughter Princess Marie Gabrielle.
They never give a tiara as Wedding Present to their 3 nieces , Marie Astrid, Margaretha and Astrid.

King Albert II and Queen Paola had to buy a tiara for Princess Claire. She wore it at the beginning and later another one was seen. Prince Laurent and Princes Claire will never attend State Visits in Belgium anymore.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde bought the Vestey tiara for Princess Elisabeth , and Queen Mathilde bought 2 Brooches at Auctions. (butterfly and old sapphire)

Now what happens to the late Queen Fabiola jewels is known and I am terribly upset.

Queen Paola's jewels will remain in Belgium as she has Children.

Hans , I really thought that before the Wedding , King Leopold III will give to Paola the deco tiara Queen Astrid received for Albert's birth ,he did , and to Queen Fabiola the emerald tiara Princess Astrid received for Baudouin's birth. But no he gave Fabiola the Nine Province tiara.

Queen Astrid emerald tiara was sold and Queen Fabiola never wore it. Josephine Charlotte, Fabiola and Paola have each an emerald Brooch. (Fabiola wore hers at Persepolis.)

Queen Astrid received it for the birth of Boudewijn so it would be suiting if it went to Fabiola. However we've never seen it. Im afraid the piece was either dismantled or sold ages ago.
If it had been with Fabiola she would have left it in Belgium as it was a Royal piece. The only option would be if she left it to Gabriel for his future wife. But that would be a long shot as she knew Elisabeth would be the future monarch and was lacking a tiara as well. She might have tried to push Paola in leaving the Art Deco bandeau of Queen Elisabeth to the Duchess of Brabant. But all of that is pure speculation.
