As for that halo contraption with that odd arrangement of stones... ghastly. And finally the trapeze setting with the largest diamonds: unimpressive. I think its very wise these frames are in the very back of the draw and our minds.

I think the diamond necklace/tiara Queen Wilhelmina received from her father in 1889 is another good example. Especially the halo version makes for an interesting tiara. Unfortunately we've only seen it on Wilhelmina.
Im not that much of a fan of the small sapphire tiara and would gladly see that returned to it's original version of a short slightly gothic in style necklace to be part of a grand parure.
The Dutch royals are well off enough to add a new smaller sapphire set to their collection and while they are at it a nice turquoise tiara and necklace would also be very welcome.
Once those are part of the collection the lesser stones like citrine, pink topaz or amethysts would make great additions.

The Dutch Diamond Bandeau comes to mind as one of the more successful conversions.

The grand ducal ladies of Luxembourg are the absolute queens of wearing bracelets and necklaces as tiaras… and not always successfully. I’ve seen topaz, aquamarine, amethyst, that hideous large sapphire …
they look like what they are: not tiaras.
More successful attempts though: the diamond bracelet or necklace that is worn by the current Duchess of Braganza, the amethyst necklace Queen Silvia had made into a circlet, and sometimes the Wulfer’s tiara if it’s well integrated with the hairdo to hide the framework.

Another bad example from a recent New Years gathering
This time a bracelet I think.
In any case it looks awkward the way it is placed on her head

All,
I just thought I would try to start a tread with examples of what you might consider bad examples of necklaces turned into tiaras.
I think we rarely see good examples.
This is highly subjective and you might disagree.
But I thought it could be fun to see what you think.
