As you know, King John of England lost the crown jewels in the 'River Wash" (wherever that was, exactly) in 1216 (sometime before he died).

Questions:

A book said John's son, Henry, became King Henry III while Henry wore his mother's circlet at his coronation on October 28, 1216. His mother was Isabella of Angouleme, a great-granddaughter of King Louis VI of France. I suppose the current British royal family does not have this circlet in their collection, right? This is one question. But I have another question as well. I checked Google Images and there are many portraits of King Henry III wearing crowns. Which one is the circlet mentioned in the book as being worn by the King at his coronation?

Henry III either borrowed or was given his mother's circlet for his coronation. I wonder if this circlet was passed down to Isabella through her family from King Louis VI himself.

All of these crowns looked different. When I read this word "circlet," I see it as a smaller, tiny tiara more than an actual crown. Instead, these pictures all show grand bigger crowns.

Do you think the crown on Henry III's tomb is likely the one he wore at the coronation?
