Queen Mary has spoken about the encouragement she received from Queen Margrethe to alter her jewels and re-invent pieces. Queen Ingrid did the same and Queen Margrethe herself as well.
It's good to see they are making use of the collection and find new ways of using the jewels.
Mary still needs to add a few pieces to her collection to provide her younger daugther and daughters-in-law with a tiara.

Then the danish royal family would have complete sets in all the most important gems:
the emerald parure
the rubi parure
the pearl poire parure
the convertible floral tiara (or the Baden tiara) and several diamond riviéres, earrings and brooches
and the saphire parure, adding the sold saphire tiara...
I am convinced that if the sale of the tiara would have taken place in present days, most likely Queen Mary would have shown interest in add it to the main line's jewelry colection. Since becoming queen consort she has shown a genuine interest and knowledge in the colection.

A shame the other sapphire tiara was not bought by the main branch. With Queen Margrethe's sapphire set it would have made a good parure. Previous Message
