Two Pictures , Queen Juiana is seen with two different tiaras , Queen Elisabeth twice her Bandeau tiara.. How close Queen Elisabeth was with the Royals of the Netherlands. For this Gala she was the first Royal. She wears a Sash , I should like to know wich one. It must be an important
Did she wear once the Leopold Order ? Queen Astrid never wore the Order, she died so early . Queen Fabiola refused to wear Sashes, Queen Paola wore Sashes of Foreign Orders, she never wore the Leopold Order , Endly Queen Mathilde wears it!

The count of Flanders was regent and could have gone as he was not the actual Head of State.
His mother Queen Elisabeth was however by far the best qualified to represent Belgium because she was not only the mother of the regent but also of the reigning king and the widow of the previous heroic king Albert I.
Leopold III and Charles the regent were at odds at that time.

In 1948 the only possible royal to go was Queen Elisabeth as reigning royals at that time did not attend inaugurations sometimes and all the other members were exciled in Swiss.

Yes there were two different events. Queen Juliana was wearing the House diamonds for one event and the Mellerio Ruby set for the other.

Could it be that she is wearing her second diamond bandeau (now in Italy) and her Cartier tiara?
