My guess is The Queen will wear simple black daywear with some modest pearls.

On Tuesday the new king Haakon VIII will be sworn in.
Queen Sonja wore a black long gown and black veil in 1991. She combined it with a pearl necklace and brooch. Im wondering what Queen Mette-Marit and crown princess Ingrid Alexandra will wear for the event. For the consecration I hope Mette-Marit will wear Queen Alexandra's Maltese coronet. For Tuesday I'd be happy if she pinned her veil to her wedding tiara.

With the death of HM king Harald V of Norway a new reign has begun. For the first time as an independent kingdom since medieval times Norway now has a King, Queen and Dowager-Queen or Queen-Mother. It also now joins Sweden, The Netherlands, Spain and Belgium as a nation with an heiress apparent.
In the weeks to come there will be the funeral of a very beloved and respected monarch and the swearing-in ceremony of the new king. Later there will be a consacration in Trondheim but im guessing that may be in spring 2027. That would also give the new Queen time to recover from her transplant. Im not sure if Mette-Marit will be able to attend all the events that will take place in the forseeable future. I was glad to read she did manage to visit the late king in hospital before he died.
