Thank you for the two great photos, Lorenzo! The provenance of the huge oval diamond brooch in pic 1 remains something of a mystery to me – in Alm’s book, it’s simply referred to as what we see (large oval brooch...) but not identified, and I was never able to find more precise info about it – anyone else...? The brooch in the second pic is the lozenge shaped brooch which I believe was first photographed on Queen Victoria (von Baden). It used to be a favorite of Princess Lilian. The picture from the state visit to Japan also shows the only time that Queen Silvia used this ruby brooch from the Bernadotte collection as a pendant.
Below, the large oval brooch worn as hair ornament by Queen Silvia for the Nobel Prize 1994, and the lozenge shaped brooch at the Nobel ‘Day After’ dinner last year.
