Thanks Martina for spotting the changes to the top of the tiara - a classic "...forest for the trees" moment indeed!
It made me think however - and I'll admit I have not done an exhaustive search, but everyone has been talking about how the base was altered.
From the few pictures I have seen where you can actually see (parts) of the base of the tiara in QM's time compared to contemporary picture, I cannot see the any changes.
I understand if it was made larger and or made to open more (as seems to be the way Camilla has worn it), one might expect some changes around the base as well???
Here is a picture where you can see some of the base of the tiara on QM. The spacing of the elements (albeit, that we can see) seem to be the same as the altered picture provided by Martina
Does any one have any better picture? Thanks in advance.
