That's ok Annie. Thank you for the photo of the Duchess of Gloucester where the diamond border is visible.
I think there are 2 such brooches/pendants as Queen Mary was photographed in Melbourne in 1901 wearing one with a diamond border, and Queen Alexandra was photographed in 1913 wearing one dangling from the back of her necklace. Queen Alexandra's pearl appears to have a plain metal border.
