Yesterday, The Countess of Wessex represented HM The Queen at the 70th anniversary of the Channel Islands liberation. For that occassion, The Countess wore ruby earrings on loan from HM The Queen. Those are the "Floral", "Floret" ruby earrings. From 'The Queen's Jewels' by Leslie Field: "The earrings are miniature flowers, the rubies edged with a circle of brilliant-and baguette-cut diamonds. The stones for the earrings came from Queen's private collection. She had been given a necklace of 96 rubies set in gold by the people of Burma as a wedding gift... The diamonds came from a tiara The Queen had been given as a wedding gift by The Nizam of Hederabad and Berar." Order of Splendor post: http://queensjewelvault.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-ruby-floret-earrings.html My post of yesterday's events: http://hrhcountessofwessex.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-countess-of-wessex-attended-70th.html Close ups of the earrings. They remind of pomegranate. Has anyone have better pictures of HM in those earrings? Anna
