Many thanks for another interesting photo Brock.

Once again the details are very unclear because of the lighting. I feel that the flood lights below the palace balcony are causing odd shadows.

I thought of, but ruled out, QEQM's aquamarine tiara.

Another possibility is the Teck circles necklace worn as a tiara, but I have ruled that out because the tiara in your photo appears deeper (or higher) and because HM used to wear it at a different angle.

My guess is, as you said, that the tiara HM is wearing is the Oriental circlet. I found one studio portrait of HM, where the lighting and angle of the shot give a slightly different impression of the tiara. The angle at which HM customarily wore the ruby tiara also seems to match that in your photo. Nevertheless, it is possible that this is a different tiara - the details are too indistinct for any certainity.

I am still very perplexed about what necklace QEQM is wearing in your photo. Is it two strands of diamonds? Or two strands of pearls?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any other evening photos from this occasion.

Did your magazine provide any details of the photographer or agency?
