The necklace being discussed was made in 1904.
It is different from the one I now call Queen Alexandra's 1901 Cartier Indian necklace - which has pearls, rubies and emeralds. Maridje's post which quotes Nadelhoffer shows it was made from gems already in the Queen's possession.
Re the Menkes ledger image.
I gave away my Menkes years ago, so I am unable to double check. In an earlier thread you indicated that the ledger entry published by Menkes was for the 1904 Queen Alexandra collier resille necklace which we now know had detachable emerald and ruby pendants.
The ledger entry does mention 9 emeralds and 9 rubies.
