The tiara was given by Louise to the Hon Janet Aitken when she was to marry Ian Campbell eventual heir to the Dukedom of Argyll. He pawned it and her other gems on her honeymoon. However her father the press baron Lord Beaverbrook redeemed and returned it to her and after her shortlived marriage was over (it produced one daughter Jeanne) she kept it.
Janet went on to remarry and become the paternal grandmother of Jodie Kidd while Ian succeeded to the title and married 3 times more. His grandson is the current duke.
I would imagine that Jeanne inherited the emeralds and they were sold during her life as she died quiet recently in NYC in not very lavish circumstances

: Thank you for the photos and links. Is
: anything known further regarding that

: I was struck by Princess Michael's emerald
    : and
    : pearl brooch.

    :
: I don't know much about the Kent jewels but
: after a little searching I found two
: slightly different histories of this brooch.
: Artemisia states that the brooch was a
: present from Queen Victoria to Princess
: Louise, Duchess of Arygll for her wedding in
: 1871. Princess Louise wore it as a pendant
: on her diamond reviere on her wedding day
: and left it to Princess Marina who in turn
: left it to Prince & Princess Michael.
: She says that at some point Princess Michael
: had the original emerald swapped out for a
    : larger one.

    :
: But Ursula writes that Princess Louise wore
: a sapphire and pearl pendant on a diamond
: riviere on her wedding day. The pendant was
: a gift from her husband. It was made by
: Garrard and could also be worn on a
: bracelet. She says that emerald brooch worn
: by Princess Michael was part of an emerald
: bracelet given to Princess Louise by Queen
: Victoria. Queen Victoria also have her an
: emerald necklace and an opal demi-parure,
: all by Garrard. The same provenance
: follows, Princess Louise to Princess Marina
: to Prince & Princess Michael.
