    Duchess of Braganza Archived Message

So far the only pic I could find of the Duchess of Braganza.

If you are wondering on the ladies in traditional costume, behind the royal couple, yes all of that is real gold, portuguese filigree jewelry. Its tradition that women wear all the family's gold jewelry for some special celebrations. Certainly many of the pieces worn tonight would be in their families for well over a century.

: Sadly Queen Letízia chose not to wear a tiara
: for tonights white tie gala banquet at the
: Palace of the Dukes of Braganza in the
    : northern city of Guimarães.
: She has worn her new tiara for an event in
: Denmark, so perhaps she is thinking of
: wearing a tiara abroad only if visiting
: monarchies. If so its disapointing. I was
: really hoping to see her wear a tiara, after
: all wearing your best outfit and jewelry is
: a way of honouring your hosts.
    :
: But not all are sad news to royal jewelry
: watchers because the Duchess of Braganza is
: indeed wearing a tiara tonight, just saw her
: on tv. I believe its the convertible
: diamond necklace she has worn at least twice
: as tiara. I hope I can see a clear picture
: of it this time and clear the doubts.
: Could'nt see what earrings Dona Isabel is
    : wearing.
: This is the necklace I am referring to, I
: posted it on these boards recently to honour
: the Duchess on her recent birthday, here it
    : is again
