Intriguing! Than you Ursula. Prior to your post, I had believed that posters had argued that this tiara came from Princess Louise, Duchess of Argylle - although I had not seen any definitive proof. I have obviously not found the same item from the Daily Telegraph as you. The one I found mentioned only a necklace from the Duke of Kent's siblings and in-laws and did not mention the possibility of the jewel being convertible from a necklace to a tiara. Perhaps I have missed another item in the paper Daily Telegraph 29 November 1934. What intrigues me is that, as far as I know, this festoon tiara was not seen or mentioned in the press until circa 1953. I am sure we will have have an interesting time trying to track down the first mention of this tiara - and possibly its use as a necklace. : --Previous Message-- : and details of the necklace/tiara!!! : : wedding gift from Edward, the Prince of : Wales -(his close brother)- the Duke and : Duchess of York, the Duke of Gloucester and : the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood : : https://royal-magazin.de/england/kent/kent-tiara-pearl-diamonds-bracelet.htm
